Why Loomfinder exists
A first loom purchase can become a maze of widths, reed sizes and almost-matching wooden parts. Loomfinder is a Ridgenotch Network publication built around one narrow task: helping home rigid-heddle weavers choose and upgrade a documented setup.
What we cover
Our first collection covers five exact loom identities: Ashford Standard 16, 24 and 32, and Schacht Cricket 10 and 15. The manufacturer-documented Ashford Standard 48 appears in accessory warnings but has no commerce identity here. We do not claim this is the whole loom market.
Who made these notes
The Ridgenotch editorial team assembled the manufacturer source register and product records. AI assisted in drafting and building this publication. No staff weaving experience, workshop testing or personal product ownership is implied. Sources, open questions and the planner’s assumptions are published so you can evaluate the guidance yourself.
How this work is funded
Loomfinder may earn a commission when readers follow clearly disclosed retailer links. We do not accept payment to change the selector’s result order, which is based on weaving width. A documented unknown remains unknown even when a product has a buying link.
